So today I took a little adventure and went to the Asian Market here in Tulsa. Its amazing how much cheaper the produce is, AND guess what! I finally found the mysterious 'made fresh daily' right here in Tulsa tortillas! One of the guys I work with told me about this random factory that makes tortillas and how good they were, but I never figured out exactly where I could buy them at. Who would have guessed they would be at the Nam Hai Asian Market? Seriously, who would have guessed? Anyway, it was so much fun, I don't know why I never take the time to drive across town and wander through the aisles of product labeled in every language imaginable; except English. It always gives me that feeling like when I was Spain at a store. Having the inclination to ask for help finding a certain item and yet, as soon as you begin to approach the nearest employee an overwhelming sense of self-consciousness envelops you. A mixture of emotions and questions run through your mind "will they understand what I'm saying?", "how can I ask a question without sounding like just another American idiot?". Then you realize an unfortunate truth: when you talk to strangers you get tend to get rather nervous and the sarcastic-jokester side of you comes out, then you remember just how un-translatable sarcasm truly is and decide to forfeit the thought of any type of communication at the current time. You decide that although the leafy susbtance you are currently holding could very possibly be un-edible; but you decide to go ahead and risk it. But....all this aside, as soon as you step outside you are already looking forward to your next adventure.

I have seen an Asian store near us and often thought about going in. For some reason, I still haven't, but you've inspired me!
