Wicked

Ever since this book came out I've wanted to read it, and then about 4 months ago I finally allowed myself to buy it. I was so excited, and then about the time I hit the second chapter I was trying to figure out if it was the same book I'd originally wanted to read. It was so different than I expected I actually lost interest and left it sitting on the shelf for a good 2 1/2 months. But.....then I decided to give it another shot and after a couple of weeks off and on I finally finished it last night. In the end I concluded that it was an okay book. I liked how everything tied in together (just not how you expected it) in the end. But getting to that point was rather treacherous. Its always fun to read things that are related to things you grew up with, just with a new twist. It made me want to watch the movie again, its been at least 10 years. I didn't even remember that Dorothy's house landed on the witch in the first place (pretty pathetic I know). I read that and had to think long and hard to remember the whole plot of the movie. All I know is the flying monkees used to scare me, so it wasn't a favorite. I think I might try some of his other books, now that I finally got used to his writing. It made me realize I miss reading just for the fun of it. Not to 'learn' something or because it will make me a better person, just to read a book for the pleasure of the action was nice. Its been too long.
